Galathea’s 2021 self-titled debut LP garnered Massimo Napoli international critical appraise and showcased his ability to create a personal blend of musical genres, with a flair for tropical atmospheres.
‘Samba De Sausalito’ is a song originally composed by the Nicaraguan percussionist Chose “Chepito” Areas, which became world-famous thanks to Carlos Santana’s version, published on the album ‘Welcome’ in 1973.
This new 12” single released on Space Echo Records contains two new versions of the song. On the A side, Galathea delivers a perfect modern dancefloor anthem, adding layers of hypnotic and futuristic sounds to the original samba,
On the flip side, the 12” offers a rework of Galathea’s version by The Invisible Session – sitting at the cross roads between Afro samba and jazz-rock, additional percussion and an entrancing drums solo shape up an explosive version that will never leave a DJ’s bag.
