Fabio Nobile was born in Cesenatico in 1977 – musician, producer.
(…) He is one of the most appreciated modern Italian drummers for his unique and recognizable funk attitude. His style is easily traceable to the greats who developed this language: Bernard Purdie, Clyde Stubblefield, Steve Gadd, to whom Fabio strongly refers. (Percussioni Magazine, 2010)
He studied classical percussion and piano at the Bruno Maderna Conservatory in Cesena but soon left to dedicate himself to the drums.
From the age of 16, his early experiences were linked to dance and entertainment music, accompanying “the attractions”: I Nuovi Angeli, Michele, and many other bands and singers from the ’60s and ’70s. He then found his place in the world of live music, first as a drummer, later as an instrumentalist, producer, and arranger.
He has toured worldwide and participated in television appearances with artists such as Claudio Baglioni, Renato Zero, Cesare Cremonini, Maestro Peppe Vessicchio, Mario Biondi (with whom he recorded 2 albums, the award-winning IF and the live YES YOU), Karima (with whom he recorded an album in tribute to Burt Bacharach for the Decca label), the Casadei Orchestra, Franco Califano, Extraliscio, Mirco Mariani and Shaloma Orchestra, Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi of La Crus, just to name a few.
A significant collaboration in the classical music field was with the conductor Maestro Gustav Kuhn, who has conducted, among others, the Berlin Philharmonic and La Scala in Milan. He has also increasingly ventured into the international jazz-funk scene, sharing the stage with Frank McComb, keyboardist and backing vocalist for Prince, the London-based acid jazz band Incognito, Italian jazz stars like Paolo Fresu, Flavio Boltro, and Fabrizio Bosso, as well as Jimmy Owens, Sarah Jane Morris, Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Rosalia De Souza, Nicola Conte, Nick the Nightfly, and many others.
