Pietro Santangelo was born, lives, works, and makes music in Naples. A saxophonist and composer, he has released five albums with the band Slivovitz and one with his trio PS3 (Clinamen, Emme Records, 2017).
He holds a degree in Digital Sound Processing from the Physics Department of Federico II University and is a prominent figure in Italy’s radical improvisation scene, collaborating with projects such as Franco Ferguson, Elio Martusciello and Officina Arti Soniche, and the NISE Collective.
A lifelong multi-instrumentalist, Pietro has worked with a diverse array of artists including Nu Genea, Enzo Avitabile, Fitness Forever, Marzouk Mejri, Dennis Bovell, and many others.
He is also active as a composer for film scores and an electronic music artist.
He enjoys analog photography and walking outdoors. He hates writing bios.
